April, Lubos and Dan, hiking up the Soap Creek climbers trail
In the Thayer basin
April nears the spring
Lubos and Dan at the spring
What does the insides of a spring look like?
Clouds from the spring
Broken Top evening
Campsite below the SE spur
More clouds
Moon over Broken Top and Bachelor Butte
Hanging around camp
Next morning: Venus
Lake below Thayer Glacier
Sunrise
Broken Top and Bachelor Butte, again
Hmm. This is what happens when a “leader” doesn’t know the route. Same party was later seen going up south ridge starting directly from the col—not a good idea. Must have been lots of fun for them getting around those gendarmes! They took 2½ hours longer to get to the dinner plate from their camp than we did to get from ours.
Detail of above
Large gas bubble in lava
South and Middle Sisters
April starts across the Dinner Plate while Lubos and Dan wait for their turns
Almost across!
